How to make the enemy the friend?

how do i make the pirates my friend, i am now playing the demo and finding it very hard to dock at the pirate base for a different ship.

I dunno if the 'cheat' for the demo is legal or not but i've already paid for and ordered the game so surely it's ok? - please HELP!!!!!!

ps I am an avid X-btf and x-tension player, but i'm not here to flame etc., just here to enjoy games that i enjoy ;-D

Click on the Player Status icon (little man symbol at the upper right). On the left are all the factions you've encountered so far. Click on a faction name (in this case, Liberty Rogues) and info about them appears. To gain favor with a faction, kill any ships from their Enemies list... or help out any of their Allies.

Since you start out very Friendly with many Liberty groups, go kill of few of them (quite a few of them) until the Pirates like ya... or, to play it safe, kill a faction that Nobody in Liberty likes... Xenos!

go to california minor. Every time you launch there will be 6 bounty hunters. Kill them, dock ans launch again. Repeat this as long as you want.

I killed like 120 bounty hunters that way. All pirate factions are neutral to me, outcasts are allied. This has almost no effect to the "good" factions, except the bounty hunters, of course. This is great for exploring, I think.
