Suggestion on buying a ship

Hi All!

What would be, basing on your experience, the best fighter ship I can buy with ~35.000$ ?
Please let me know, I tried the Crusader but it seems to be a bit too slow to handle with a lot of enemy ships.
What about Cavalier, Piranha or Defender, which is the best?

Please let me know, thanks!
Stefano

Personally I'd go for the Cavalier. I flew one of these during the story missions and didn't find it to be to bad and it'll allow you more powerful weapons than the Piranha. Life will be pretty tough in Bretonia flying a Defender, i don't recommend it.

I didn't really find the Crusader all that sluggish, either way the increased firepower more than makes up for the loss in maneuverablity.

I don't really run this place but I have an understanding with the people who do.

lol... i tried the cavalier, but the loss of two gun mounts hurt a LOT...

and besides, the crusader has the cavlier beat in aesthetic value, hands down... the cavalier looks so snub nosed, and the crusader is so insect/fish/sleek looking

What about the civilian ship, "Eagle"? I realize that this is NOT ~35000 credits. I just wanna see if anyone has gotten this ship and what they think.

I was fighting with my new Crusader against some (a lot, in fact Xeno ships, and I noticed that sometimes it slow down to a speed of 70-73, while I think the ships I used before where always at the top.
Is it possible that the speed is reduced because I'm firing with 5 guns (Drail, 2 MKIII, 2 Scorpions) ?
Or just because they are firing to me at will ?

Thanks,
Stefano

Buy the Corsair Legionnair, its the best in that range. Very manuverable, 4 guns, and looks cool.

Buckle up and hold on to your mud.

Yep, the Legionaire is a good ship for 35,000. The Cavalier does just fine, too. For 35,000, I'd stick with a light fighter. In that price range you can get something that's maneuverable, and has decent fire power. Personally, I forgo heavier ships in favor of maneuverability until I have to get out into the really distant sectors.

Also costs you alot when you loose weapons when the AI shoot your wings off.

For me the best cheaper ones was the Defender until I could afford the Baracuda or Dragon.

If you let your ship get to the point where it's losing wings, you're doing something wrong.

personally i like the hawke and the leagionere (? cant spell) they both look cool and the manurability is not to bad. you can put some pretty mean weapons on them as well.

Ok, I'd like to try the Legionnaire, but where can I find the Trafalgar base?
Gosh, I'm flying around on the New London system, but I was not able to find it.
