Freelancer coming for Mac?

Is Freelancer coming out for Mac systems ?

Post Mon Mar 17, 2003 3:45 am

Man I hope not. Those damn Mac users really kill me. j/k It will but will be later like all releases for Mac.

I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.

If they do it at all it will take a while, seeing how Freelancer is currently DirectX and they'd have to port it to OpenGL or something Mac-compatible.

Did Starlancer ever come out for the Mac? That's probably a good indication.

freelancer is made by microsoft - why woulld they bother? it would be cool though, i have a mac friend who would like to play it.

Difficult. Right-mouse button plays an important role in Freelancer. Yeah, I know that there are a zillion 2-button mice out there compatible with Macs, but the standard Apples still ship with 1-button.

It might - if sales are well enough!

Pardon me while I laugh my butt off.

*insane laughter comes from another room for about ten minutes*

hahaha... haha... OK, where was I? OK, when was the last time a Micro$ith game got released for the mac? Seriously, it's more likely that George Lucas will actually make Episode III a good movie.

Actually there are a few Microsoft things out there for the Mac. Microsoft Office, Dungeon Siege, I think Age of Empires 1 and 2, HALO someday. I don't think Microsoft has any problem bringing their games over to the Mac. It's not like suddenly giving the Mac community a game 7 months after the PC release will make everyone flock to OS X.

I said games, I know Office and IE are on Mac. I didn't know Dungeon Siege was though. I suppose it's possible then, but it seems more likely it'd be ported to the Xbox first.

don't think it will be on Mac, since this require mouse botton 2.

Two mouse buttons in this game is hardly a requirement, I for one never use the left mouse button's mouse flight functions - using the space bar is much more convenient.
