You cannot transfer a s/p char into m/p.

Can you do the reverse? Transfer a MP ship to SP?

If you are running the server or have access to it then it is quite possible to transfer your single player character into multi player.

Firstly start a new multiplayer character on the server. Make sure that character loads up into the game.
Quit out of the game.
Locate your single player character (my documents\my games\freelancer\accts\singleplayer). Copy the autosave.fl file (autosave is usually the most uptodate single player character) into your multiplayer directory.
Rename your current character( just add a .old because you'll need to know the files exact name.) Once you have renamed your new multiplayer character then rename your autosave(or which ever file you choose) file to the exact name of your multiplayer character (not including the .old).

Once you connect to the server you should see your multiplayer character. Unfortinatly the player name is Trent and i have no found a way to edit this as yet. If anyone knows how it would be much appreciated.

If i've missed a step of stuffed up then please feel free to correct me. I've been playing LAN multiplayer with my friends using my single player character for some time without a problem.

I can see this causing all kinds of problems, especially if you have things on you only available in Single Player.

Also, why would you even want to do this? It doesn't take but a few hours to get back where you were.

I have no encountered any problems using any of the items you obtain specially in the single player game. They still work just fine in multiplayer.
