New Ship Pack/Mod Ideas!

Ok, I already posted this once but nobody was reading it becuase the name I geuss so now its more apprpriate. You ever hear of the game called starcraft, you must have heard of it or played it! Its a classic! Anyways I still play to this day! The whole point to this topic is that I was looking at my Leviathan last night and it occured to me, that thing looks alot like a terran Battlecruiser! LOL! Then I was thinking some more. I was wondering if theres any SC fans out there that would want to see a line of SC ships!? Like an SC Ship Package.. But, I have only recently made my first ship so I am not too sharp yet, although putting it into the mod/game is reletavely easy enough, Im not big on graphics. I never like computer drafting class! LOL. Anyways, if there are enough people interested I am sure that we can get help from MD or whoever... I know your thinking this is the wrong forum to post, but not really.. because if I do a package for this I have more ideas! I would have to discuss with MD but if I could I would want to add one more system to the rebalance (not till like RB 3.5 or something). What system? None other than the Terrain Dominion System, where you could meet the Protoss, Terran, and possibly Zerg! Ofcourse zerg could not sell any ships as I assume that an organic "ship" would be purposterous (no offense to the nomads lol). But the Scout, Carrier, Arbiter, Battlecruiser, Shuttle, Dropship, Wraith, Valkerie, and the Corsair would all be possibilities if this project could work out. I know the Arbiter has been made but I assure you this one would be more identical to SC and the Valkerie is a name that is somewhat taken but no big deal! I am just looking for feedback and help, and most of all, I need your opinion MD of this and what you think about it in your future upgrades to rebalance!

yup i am creating the Tylithium class fighters i have the VHF in the works
these ships will be massive ships with big guns and such cause they are the ultimate hybrid between fighter and battleship

Umm.. thats cool Tylium.. but I started this topic not for new ideas really, just feedback on this particular idea.. but then again.. your idea is good. Maybe we should just start a topic just for all of our ideas...? I am just checking to see if anyone would want to see this. I dont want to dump so much time into creating Sc Ships if nobody would use them or enjoy them. Thats why I am posting this topic here. If I get responses I will continue with my work.. if not it will probably go down the toilet. Not to mention I am going to need assistance... I am just one man. if you have thoughts, ideas, questions, or anything at all please post because I am looking for ANY type of feedback. THX in advance!

what kind of fighters have u got in mind....some nice hunters killers or a very good vhf... or a cross between fighter and frieghter or warship.. not to big !!alway liked the ones at the start of freespace2 the vasodon one couple of wings a few missle points couple or turrets some torpedo mounts and a good shield and you never know.......

sorry.. forgot to add maybe an updated patriot add the wings from the anubis add 3 forward / reverce turrets{at the tips of each wing} for that all round shot keep the 4 main guns add a couple of missile points and torp/disrupter points under the wings and u got the best of both 7guns missiles forward 3guns reverce and the torp/disrupter for anything big + keep the speed.........make her about a class 6 or 7...that would be FUN!!getting nailed by a patriot class2.

Umm.. noe ones really intereted in my idea I geuss..? Well, I think you were talking to tylium spearhead, because the ships I was talking about would be modeled after the ones in the game Starcraft and Broodwar expansion all released by Blizzard. I geuss if you have never played that game then this ship package wouldnt appeal to you very much, although I am trying to make them decent ships all around but it will be difficult to balance them into a game. MD are you out there? I need your imput most of all. Though as I have said I won't bother to continue my work if no one will be interested in seeing these ships. So, please people some input, good or bad!

WTF are you talking about? Does anybody read anything in these forums or do they just see a topic and just post immediatly with no preconception or rational thought whatsoever? WTF kind of comment was that last one? Jump without jumpgates, are you FREAKIN SMACKED OUT OF YOUR HEAD!? sigh
Sorry peeps I am just really feeling stressed, I thought I was almost done with the main design for the terrain battlecruiser (been working on it for like ever) and then when I am FINALLY ready to exchange from G-max to Milkshape for the hardpoint and texture touches, and then it tells me I have errors in my uv map and when I try to open it using quake 3 format in Milkshape I dont get my ship, I get a big ****ing 3d blob!!! It pissed me off majorly, then I figure I'll break from it and check on the forums and what do I find? More dissapointments. The only posts I am getting here is from newbies who obviously don't know to read what the hell the subject is about. All I get is ramblings about stuff that does not pertain to anything (no offense Tylium Im directing this at that other newb!). Sometimes it just makes me want to throw the freakin moniter through a wall! sigh This is not a good night. Anyways, to anyone who actually reads these posts and understands my problem here, thanks in advance for any advice. How I got errors in my uv map is a mystery because I have done a few ships and not gotten any such error before, although this ship is much larger in scale and detail.. could that cause this? I'll post this question in the edit forum.

Tylium, I have that tutorial, and no it states nothing about scaling issues and format issues between milkshape and g-max that would indicate what may be wrong with the ship. I assume that it is oversized and milkshape cannot import a larger scale format from quake 3 files that are not even actual quake 3 files originally. But the tutorial does not go into detail about making capships either because that would be getting into a whole nother thing and as he stated in the tutorial he was trying to keep it as simple and short as possible. Don't think me so foolish as too have passed up an easily found solution before posting. Unlike many of the newbs that like to post stupid questions, I will atleast try to do my own research before annoying the rest of the world with idiotic questions. I by no means am refering to you ofcourse.. just there are alot of them around here if you haven't noticed. I have already searched the forums thouroughly and searched all the available rescources in the site and checked lancerplanet as well before I finally decided to ask this question in the editing forum. The only reason I even mentioned it here is because I was simply stating what was really upsetting me tonight, and thought that if someone of higher knowledge did read my dilema, they might generously respond in this forum.. but most likely I will get the answers in the editing forum as that is where such a questioned should be asked and addressed. But I can see that you were merely trying to help with your suggestion and theres no way you could know that I already had the tutorial... so thank you for atleast attempting to help... its the thought that counts, right!?

I think it would be interesting to see starcraft ships come into freelancer. My question is what stats would they have? If nothing else, remember the scout must have at least 2 gun hardpoints and 2 missile/torpedo slots. Otherwise, it would take away from the idea of what flying a scout is like.

If a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a hurricane, what do spammers cause?

Tylium, thanks again for the advice... but no I did not... I did every step several to 20 some odd times... and LASERBLAST!!! THANK YOU! Finally someone has responded to the ACTUAL subject of this topic. Yes I am somewhat of a SC veteran you could say and I am fully aware of ALL the details of the ships... the fun one will be the (dun dun dun) Yamato gun.. those of you SC fans know what I'm talking about. I may make some of these ships weapons (like the corsair pulse weapon and yamato gun) permanent mounts or something and from there balance the stats of the ship and weapons to fit accordingly so as not to over/under power the ships. The wraith and scout should be a no brainer.. and the shuttle or the dropship ( I would like to make as many as possible though there may be no need for both) shouldnt have guns but will.. because for obvious reasons some things must be modified to fit Freelancer appropriatly. But, after I get things rolling it should move along quickly. If I get enough support on this idea... then I may ask silverfire if he can help me make weapons for the specialized ones like the yamato especially. The Battlecruiser will be my 'premiere' ship and if things go well I will continue down the line. I just dont want to make a mod just for these ships.. I would rather find someone willing to include them in thier own (like MD). Thank you for the response!

sorry chidi u did say any thought ideas and so on......... hope your warship turn out ok {anything worthwhile is never easy}hope to take her for a spin or shoot her down as the case may be....newbe likes to kill warships {joke}
