Sorry about the delayed response.
Rebalance is going slowly, as we (Ro9ue, awts0c, a few others whose names I don't remember, and I), have been either pretty busy working on other things, or just plain not able to check in as often as we'd like. It's a slow endeavor, but we're working on it. I'll give you the latest news on Rebalance when there's news to give. Try out Epsilon if you're itching for a good mod, in the interim. I like it myself, it's very playable. I just hope that you're a good pilot. There are some tough enemies in Epsilon.
Regarding the pseudo-warp thing, that's not really a bug as much as a DA / MS attempt to confuse everyone (kidding). Actually it is controllable as to how fast modders will allow "warp capable" (i.e. ships with two or more engines mounted) to go withing their mod. It's nothing to worry about. If you don't like using it, go into your goods.ini file, look for the various *shipname*_package entries, and comment out with a ";" at the beginning of the line for ONE of the engine mount entries (preferably the one with the highest number on the right end of it). Before you do this BACKUP THE FILE!!!! In case the game does something silly after you do that. Be warned, this change won't be in effect if you're flying a two engined ship, until you buy a NEW ship of that type, or another one... Also, your ship, due to not having the second engine anymore, will be half as fast or worse. Consider yourself warned
Oh, and about the server issues, download the Ioncross Freelancer Server Operator, and get the Rebalance Gamedata files for the version of Rebalance that you're running, that should help. Follow the instructions that come with the respective items, and you should be fine. If you need help, I think there's a forum here somewhere on TLR that covers those subjects.
Enjoy, I hope this was helpful.
