tng1.56 help

i seem to be occuring a problem with this 1.56 patch in that my connection goes suddenly on that server,maybe crashing that server aswell and then im not able to reconnect to that server till i reboot,any ideas?
i followed the installation instructions aswell if that helps.

operating system, such as windows XP, ME, 2000, etc. or any other system this game works on.

i got XP running,why could that have made this problem occur?
