i need some info (realy need help here)

ive been looking through this site for info on editing ships in the .fl save files

i dont full understand it yet but from what ive found here ive learned a little, but theres some things i cant seem to understand

i need a list of all the ships and there equipment hardpoints
like weapon hardpoints (how many does each ship have).

are the bellow realy needed in save files ? if so how many hardpoints of these does each ship have

regarding the ship weapon hard points, if you have a list is there any chance you can format it as follows

reason i need such info is for save game editor i'am creating. i want to database all the ships and there archtype along with how many weapon hardpoints and all that stuff for easy editing of save files

Every ship has a different set number of hard points for there weapons. If you have the time you can look them up using the utf_edit by opening up a ships .cmp file. As for designation and location the hard points are usually add using milkshape3d but you have to re hard point everything on the ship. In the goods.ini file you can add weapons to hard points on a ship only if the hard point physically exists on the model by adding a line of code like this
addon = nomad_gun01_mark02 , HpWeapon01, 1 note you must specify what weapon and what hard point. You will need to learn the nick names of all the items under the utility downloads I think there is a translator.

there is a better way of doing things.
get ioncross character editor.
you can easily edit ships from it.

i want to make my own not use another, i dont realy like th current save game editors (sp) they lack gui and extended options

ionocross is good. but i just preffer to make my own and use that.. thanks driffting, thats helped a little more

now about the running lights and docking.. do they realy need to be included in the save game ? or if they are left out will the game set some as default

the lights are included also in the save game file as the contrails.... i.e. if you replaced a light with another one in goods.ini, you need to buy the ship again to take effect. now if you have a savefile editor it will be easy... you just need the crc codes for it. AFAIK, savefile entries, when edited are in crc codes.
