viewer for .thn files?

Greetings:

Does anyone know of a tool/utility that will allow viewing of the animation/cutscenes in FL? Better would be a tool to let us create more of them, but viewing would be a start. I don't recognized the extension....

Use the *.thn ExtractorClick here + notpad.exe // ultraedit32.exe // $EDITOR..
It's just Lua2cClick here..?

But after compiling files had not the same structure as original!... And makes a animation crashes! I found that in some places the "06" appears instead "08" as in original file? How do you win this problem?

Ok, thanks. That gets me to the source code along with the decompile (Thanks Dixi!), but leaves the original question. Does anyone know of a viewer *outside* of the game to view these things?

What do you mean "view"? It's just lua code.

of coz u can view the edited files:
edit them, save them and watch the sequenzes with freelancer.exe

I would like to be able to view the sequences. Ok, so it is LUA code. I appreciate the point to the LUA website and am working my way through the documentation.

Basically, is there a way without loading the game and getting to the point that the particular .thn is run to see what happens when it is run? Should I look at custom missions where all it does is run the action?

Maybe switch the intro .thn's with the one you're working on? Don't know if that'll work, but then you'd just have to launch the game.

I don't think you'll ever see a .thn "viewer" outside the game, though.

nope..just checked it..
replaced gasminer3.thn with a random $THN..
didn't work. the menuscreen is black.
"we" don't know enough how the movie scripting works.
u can switch the bumpmaps, coz e.g trent and the prof use the same mesh, but different textures.
i tried it with sinclair. the female modeling is different. now he uses the sinclair textures but trent mesh.
to fix this u have to check evry *.thn and replace the male with the female models...

Hmm..I just tried replacing the 3 intro_*.thn's in /scripts/intro/ with m13_hypergate_scene.thn from /scripts/story. That made the story script play behind the menu.

It looked a bit..odd, but I've never seen the cut sequences past level 5 or so and my FL install is close to completely fubar'ed from all the screwing around =) So it could just be me.

Excellent idea to replace the intros so it is upfront. Wonder if I can do any with custom missions... hmm...

Thanks to all for your help. Should be fun.

Also, is it just me or does it appear they intended to have the avatar for MP selectable? When you first create a charater, you see the Trent model standing there. I'm guessing you would be able to switch models at that point, but for some reason that was pullout out of the released code, perhaps because it would increase the amount of net traffic needed and would make the cutscenes be modified (Trent enters Bar, Trent talks to X) for the new character model....

Anyway, cheers all..

Yea..the first time I tried MP, instinct made my mouse move below the Trent image to click through the available models. But, oh no! There were no buttons and I was stuck with "ugly 80's dude". Then I cried.
