ini compressor

Ok i found a ini decompressor, but does a compressor exist? Where to download it? I need it because in every system i decompress in game are no patrols anymore. Even if i just decompress, save and test, the patrols(navy, poilice,...) missing. Or can somebody help me to fix the problem.

Your problem is not whether the .ini file is compressed or uncompressed.

Possiblities:

1. Your .ini file was saved and put back into the game as a .txt file.

Make Windows list all files with thier extentions.

2. You did something you didn't mean to do in the file.

3. You didn't use Bini.exe correctly.

If you are using the GUI version of Bini, it will scew you up in a heat beat.
Check the "Freelancer Editing Tutorials Forum". You will find a step by step
tutorial on using the Command Line Bini.

I hope this gives you a clue...

Gee Wizz! I've been using the GUI version to uncompress INI files and I have not had any problems at all. When you open an INI file, the program creates an uncompressed matching INI.txt file but it does not actually uncompress the INI file itself. You are supposed to rename the still uncompressed INI file so as to save it for possible future use, like filename.INI.original or something like that. Then you go to the INI.txt file and edit that and then rename it to filename.ini.

It does not seem to make any difference that the INI files are uncompressed.

I am concerned though. Am I doing something wrong????

Hey i am not that dump!
I am using the version: BiniQDU v1.1
>>1. Your .ini file was saved and put back into the game as a .txt file.
I check that before I test! And if i save it in bini it makes a backup in a text file and saves the ini decompressed!

>>2. You did something you didn't mean to do in the file.

Yea, I am to dump to use a text editor, I am to dump to use the open button, to chose my file in the right folder(FL/DATA/UNIVERSE/LI01/LI01.ini), and to dump to push the save button.

Thx anyway.

But i found my problem its my server. With every uncompressed System file i.e. LI01 dont have patrlos on my server, even if its the original file just uncompressed. I tried some mods which have changes in NY on my own server and in every case the patrols missing. It must be a bug. I tried it with a fresh reinstallation, allways same. I hope there will come a server update soon.

I was looking for an ini compressor to and wrote to HCl, who told me to search for FLINI...and here it is.
There is also an updated bini.exe which doesn't create errors with mbase.ini
