IGx89, I can give you some suggestions if you'd like!

The first one is: you don't need a graphic artist. Your interface is perfect! I'm sure the modding community would prefer simple-and-sweet over fancy, bulky, typo-and-error-prone.

No, but seriously, I do have some suggestions. I'll post a new thread on the subject.

2 Reynen: There is no problems to make MOD compatible with MOD launcher as it takes seconds... So i'am not even forcing anyone to make MODS compatible, coz every MOD out there potentially compatible with MOD launcher. It's MOD LAUNCHER was writed to be compatible with stuff currently out there.
BTW Error 76 shows that you have Flauncher and stuff in incorrect folder.

--------------------------------------------
----- TECHNICAL ISSUES -------------------
--------------------------------------------

1. - Check Out Your LAUNCHER installation folder!
For this you should Press on 'Run Self Test'
If it says Everything OK, then crashes when
you try to activate / diactivate MOD, THEN
JUST REINSTALL LAUNCHER WITH LATEST ONE!
------------------- I'am sorry that it wasn't updated
on the main screen and some people again downloaded
OLD BUGGY version. Just Reinstall.

REMEMBER Flauncher should be installed in \Freelancer\mods\
folder! I mean it. For you, Reynen, again...
Put everything while installing to your freelancer folder \mods

2. - You should have ADMINISTRATOR level on XP!

3. - You don't have to REINSTALL FREELANCER. Anyway.
If You wish to uninstall Flauncher, but have MOD activated,
then just copy freelancer/backup folder to freelancer/
and all your files will be restored. If you don't see backup
folder then no MODS activated at this time.

---------------------------------------------------------
If you have any problems send me e-mail to [email protected]

And please, don't f#$k.....

I didn't erase anything on your comp.. Just read....
You are Not supposed to put any NON-COMPATIBLE MODS to
freelancer/mods/ directory.... Choose something different like
freelancer/mymods/ or like freelancer/mods.mo and etc...

How would you expect Flauncher to work with ALL MODS.
Impossible! Working MODS are included with Flauncher.
Other MODS should be either edited with MODED or if they are
scripts of FLMM by hands... Then after that these MODS could
be used with Flauncher... But as it says in proggy :
"BACKUP DATA FOLDER BEFORE TESTING NEW MOD FOR THE FIRST TIME".

And please mail me your problem to [email protected] coz still
iam getting mails that everything is working OK. And then read
on forum your problem...

Good Luck

About: Run Time Error 53

Mistake is now cleared in new download.
You may download again and reinstall.
If you didn't uninstall yet, then just create empty file "activated.dat"
in "...\freelancer\mods\" folder.

Please, write how it's going!

Sweet! It works!

Thanks a lot dude!

Post Wed Apr 02, 2003 8:53 am

Everyone, please, write how it's doing, coz it's still beta, and we are hunting bugs...

Wabbit. I think you are mistunderstanding the problem.

I installed the program from your installation file.

The program wont even run! When I go to start the program it gives that error message.

As far as making them compatible are you using XML for script execution? If not I have to rewrite it using whatever your program is using.
---------------------------------------------

Installed program into here,

D:\Games\Freelancer\mods

Yes I have admin priv...

My Mod directory is here,

D:\Games\Freelancer\servmods

When I try and strt Flauncher after installation, error 76 above.

Your talking about problems running mods, I can't even get your program to start! I'm not haveing any problems with mods...is this clear now?

I uninstalled from menu, it WIPED OUT \Freelancer DIR, there was nothing there!

I already reinstalled and restored backups. Reinstalled your program AGAIN, and it still not run.

You tell me what I am doing wrong here. I cannot get this to even start up.

So far i can tell that this is setup2go problem in other words SETUP erased \Freelancer. Or maybe it's another problem. Flauncher physically unable to
delete any files in \Freelancer unless MODED was used incorrectly and then
created MOD launched and then everything was UNINSTALLED. But that is too
very strange, and i guess impossible. That's not problem with your situation anyway...

Clue: Flauncher was specially designed for moders who don't know scripting or
doen't want to make his hard work even harder. The easisest way to understand
how it works you may find in your mods\ANYMOD folder. Well if you have your
MOD ready for FLMM and want it to work with Flauncher just ACTIVATE IT in FLMM
and then copy all modified files to any folder, while keeping file structure:
Exmp:
FLMM appending to file newcharacter.ini
Then you should just copy this file after ACTIVATION in FLMM to
../Freelancer/mods/MYMOD/DATA/CHARCTERS/newcharacter.ini
and to do so with any files modified by you.
Then launch MODED and browse to ../Freelancer/mods/MYMOD folder
Press Analyze Files button, then press Export button. That is it!
Now you have 2 things left to do... Edit files
../Freelancer/mods/MYMOD/servers.txt (with servers info) and
../Freelancer/mods/MYMOD/info.txt (with MOD info)
That is it! You can change everything in game You may add
custom graphics (like loading Freelancer screen) and music and etc...

Tell me, if that works for you. If not, i'll give you more details.

Reply to Reynen Run Time Error Bug:

Well, what a magical error was it?
It's unable to check if any MOD is activated. And trying to get access to
mystical file which is never located, where it looking for. MISTAKE IN PATHS!
Clue:
1- UNINSTALL FLAUNCHER
2- DELETE "C:\FL.DAT" IF YOU HAVE ONE (LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE)
3- DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION
4- INSTALL IN "D:\Games\Freelancer\mods\" folder!
5- PUT IN DIALOG "D:\Games\Freelancer\"! And press APPLY!
6- RUN IT AND ENJOY

Anyone having problems with this one as well?
i was very happy when i saw the XP problem fixed...and now it installs fine...but then it asks for FreeLancer.exe which it by default have "C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT GAMES\FREELANCER\"

mine is located "D:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT GAMES\FREELANCER\"

but when i try to change the destination it says "Can't Find FreeLancer.exe! Check Entered Path!"

anyone got a solution for this?

You should actually check the path...!
for you it is
"D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\"
Just copy and paste it (without "" symbols) ... Should work fine.
You may also try to enter full path to Freelancer folder in C:\FL.DAT file

Tell me, if it works.
