You can play SL online although don't many players do so.

And yes, you can change your profile. Just click "your profile" under the TLR logo.

For all I know (i.e. heard here at the forum), there isn't much activity in MP nowadays. never tried that, though, cant be too sure.
As to the recruit position - yes, you start from the recruit (up to some 5 postings or so). there must be a ranking list somewhere here at the forum.

i checked, the lowest on the list was 1st lieutanant, so i duno... and the other one where it tells um - what rank u achieve at how many posts - i dont think it was there either.

The lowest ranks are shown there. otherwise ther would be alot of people with only one or two posts there.
