the best space shooter ever... especially in multiplayer

SL is a rediculously good game for its age, especially since Amazon.com sells it now for $2.99 US or less. As OP pointed out above, its a great space shooter, with excellent replay value, and is surprisingly difficult. I only wish more of its features had made it to freelancer.

Frankly, I'm amazed at how good it is for a game I never heard much about. It sucked me right in. If you're wondering, look up the demo (it's NOT the first part of the game - it's actually a preface). The only thing I'd tell you is, you really don't get a sense of the scope of the story from the demo - it's really a GREAT story.

I love the Wing Commander and X-Wing games, and this game is every bit as good as they are. (Really love the fighter selection and different weapons and missiles.)

I highly recommend it!

I very much enjoyed SL, even after playing Freelancer for a couple years. It was well worth the small investment.
