Playing the game

I recently got the game StarLancer in a store. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2.
Installing the game was no problem, but when starting it I get always the same error saying the launcher.exe caused an error and will be closed.
A few times uninstalling the game and reinstalling it did not solve this problem.
Can anyone tell me what to do to get this game running ?.
(I think my system must be good cause games like FarCry, HalfLife2, StarWars KOTOR runs with no problem at all).

Please if anyone now a solution .... thanks in advance
(and sorry if my english isn't that good... i'm dutch speaking)

Try running it in compatability mode.

Timber, your English is just fine, and welcome to the forums. I don't have a definite answer for you, because I've tried different things too. I found that installing and running in Win98 compatibility mode slows the game down. Try installing the "minimal" type, where the movies are run from the CD's. That worked for me. And, make sure you don't have any 3D sound effects on. Known issue that was never fixed. Make sure your sound is software only, no EAX or Direct Sound. They crash the game all the time. I'm running the same OS setup as you, XP pro w/ SP2, and sometimes get the crash to desktop and have to reboot and restart.

I very rarely get a crash to desktop - I may just be lucky. I'm run XP, but not SP2. Whenever my game crashes I just try flying the mission again, and if does that I turn off the advanced sound and play the mission again and that usually does the trick. I make sure to turn it right back on again afterwards too. =P
