Need help with setting up a multiplayer game..

I just bought this game recently and I really want to play online Co-op with my friend. Unfortunetly, I have had problems with this game starting up so I had to get a No-CD fix. Anyways, when we go into the game's multiplayer we want to connect directly through IP so we tried this on both MSN games and through LAN. Unfortunetly, none of them worked! When my friend would try to connect to my server, he would not be able to because it would say that "no sessions found." I tried Gamespy too but I noticed that it only had Deathmatch.... How do you play Co-op online? Can you still do it or was it taken off? Please help.... Thanks.

I guess no one plays this game multiplayer anymore... ? I'm having this same exact problem. Anyone still able to play it online?

You can play it on Gamespy - however you'll need to arrange times when you're all on, of course.

NOTE TO PURE: How about no? I like the Phoenix fighter. Realy, you should try it.

That doesn't make sense...?

Everyone has, or at least everyone who has finished the game.

We've tried it on EVERYTHING - Zone AND Gamespy; it doesn't work. The game hands looking for a connection.

Starlancer, and I think other Direct X 7 games, are a real pain the the butt when it comes to firewalls. Are either of you behind a firewall? Are either of you connected to a router? With my old router, I would actually have to disconnect the router and directly connect my machine to the internet to get the hosting to work. Now I have a router with a DMZ option, and that has made it much easier. Not sure if this helps though.

BAN REVERSE THRUST! - but only when you're playing multi-player. The Shroud and Phoenix are so much better than everything else (reverse thrust is a game winner in deathmatch games) that flying anything else is suicide - unless you really are an ace pilot or a cheat . . .
If you ban reverse thrust fighters then it becomes a more intersting game because there is now a reason to fly, for example, a Mirage or a Naginata. Reverse thrust removes choice from the game - in my opinion - and makes it less interesting.

Thanks - yes, I already figured it was probably my friend's router. =\ I'll inquire if she can get access to it (it's her landlord's) to possibly see about a DMZ.
