Why?

what does this mean

Error: problem activating 'Liberty Dreadnaught'

This was only a test run, so no files were changed (besides being decompressed).
Look in the log for more details.

When you try to activate the mod and it says error - at the bottom of the 'mod' selection box - to the left - there will be a little readout that will tell you what is wrong. Copy that out into a reply here for some help!

Check to make sure your FL directory is actually in that folder, because mine is in C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftGames\. If it isn't, move it to that C:\games folder.

Or - if you are using FLMM (obvious really) just select the change directory button - its in options as change freelancer directory. Then browse for where your game is - and bingo sorted!
If it is on the right directory already - then basically you don't have a freelancer.ini (this can be due to disabling a previous mod). I have noticed that whenever you disable a mod - not always are the files returend - and some are just left there. Try to use the restore backups (tools of FLMM). If not - either find someone with an freelancer.ini then can send a copy of - or time to reinstall.......
