Some newb questions...

I just found LancersReactor last night and since then have become VERY interested in learning how to make my own mods for Freelancer. I have found several posts that explain how to do certain things, but not one tutorial that explains EVERYTHING from the start. I know very little about modding games, and nothing about modding Freelancer. If someone could please answer the questions in this post and/or write a COMPLETE tutorial from the very beginning of modding which explains everything about modding Freelancer, I would be very grateful.

Some more questions:

1a. What tools are used for modding Freelancer?
1b. How do they work?

2a. What programs are used for making ship models?
2b. How do they work?

3. What is the COMPLETE process for getting a ship model out of my head and into the game?

If ANYONE could answer ANY of these questions, please don't hesitate to do so. Thanks in advance.

This is but a taste of the Dark Side.

Well...for editing the .inis, which is where the data for almost everything is kept...you will need an .ini decompressor...i prefer BiniQDU....its very simple...just click the open button and type away...for editing names and infocards of stuff you will need Fled-IDS or ResHacker...i use both....depending on the mood im in

You can use any program or any combination of programs for this...most people tend to use milkshape as it is easy compared to other programs like rhino...as long as you have a program that can export to .cmp format when you are done...well, how do they work....its not as simple as that...if you think all you do is go in there and draw something then have it make it into a model...you've got a surprise in store...each model will take days or weeks of devotion...
