Docking with a cruiser

Is there a way to dock at stations with a cruiser. I'm using the White Star in the latest Rebalence mod. I can dock on planets with the docking rings but can i make it so that it can also use the moorings at stations? Any help would be great, thx.

Some of the later battleship mods have the basics of changing the system to accepting mooring. Look it up.
