freelancer.exe

hi all
i'm new to these forums but not to freelancer.
i have noticed that a few times deactivating a mod can cause freelancer.exe to dissapear. therefore i would like to put a copy up as a download to save reinstalling. two questions though:
1. is this legal
2. if so how do i do it

It doesn't disapear, but even if it got renamed, a simple reinstall of FL would put it back where is belongs. These days as well, a clean install of SDK helps between mod use so that all runs right. As to having one for download? Pointless as you still have the game disk.
