Mods Don''t Work???????

Yeah, I downloaded the crime addon mod and the equalizer mod. I didn't know where to unload the .zip files so I posted a discussion here. People said to download FLMM (Freelancer Mod Manager) and so I did. I unloaded the mods into created folders in the FLMM folder. When I click to activate the mod it says something like: "Error: Can't activate blah blah blah...." WHYWHYWHY???

Lets start with the basics. 1. The downloaded mods can be stored anywhere. 2. uninstall any mods you have at the moment. 3. Download and install the SDK file it is a clean, decoded file set. 4. double click on any mods you have to install them. 5. activate them in FLMM. 6. delete any saved games in the My documents/My games folder. post back with any results you have after following this.

There is a forum below general editing, its called mod help forum. There is a stickied thread in there which outlines exactly what to do if you cannot activate or crash with a mod. However, it also gently reminds people that its up to the creators of the mods to help, and not the general public, as they cannot solve the issues.

Once FLMM is installed, all mods should have a little icon - they look like this:

If you don't see that, then FLMM isn't installed properly, try downloading and installing once more. When you DO see that type of icon - double click on it to 'install' the mod into FLMM. Then you can start flmm to activate it (you will see its name in the screen). I can only guess you have done this part right, but you said you made a directory for it - which meant I thought I would ensure that you know how to install them.

Next up - if you have done that, and installed correctly - you may have to reinstall the game - as it may use scripting, and if your files aren't 'perfect' then it may find a space where its not expecting one, and have a fit. Generally a re-install of the game works wonders, or downloading the SDK instead. That can be found by searching the main page.
