Cursed Editing

Nothing I do ever seems to have any effect. I figured, if I modify a ship I'm not flying, then it will be modded. But, in a saved game, even if I modify a ship, it won't show up until I start a new game, is that correct? Example, I used HardCMP Editor and put tons more gun on a ship. I went to buy it, but the ship was unaltered. If I were to start a new game, and then find the ship, would if be altered? Thanks.

(Wasn't sure where to post this)

Depends on the modifications. I have modded hold size, and so forth, activate a saved game and went and bought the ship. But If I added a new ship in, I had to start a new game as it wouldn't be in the saved game data.

You see, that's odd. I'd try to Mod the Cargo Hold size, and sure, I could but the ship, but it would always say the original size. Say I'd change 200 to 2000, I'd got look at it, it'd still say 200. And I DID modify the file for the Mod I wwas using, so it's not like I changed a .ini that wasn't even being read. Hmmm

You must also define the weapon hardpoints in shiparch.ini in order to make them useable for the player.

Try and buy it, and check how much cargo you can put in her. Unlike weapons, the stats displayed for a ship are not generated automatically, but also just infocards (which you can change with FLEd_ids). Thus, if you change e.g. the Rhino's cargo bay to 2000 units, the infocard will still say 80, although you can put in 2000.

Define? You mean as in it being called "Hp_Weapon09" or something like that? Because HardCMP Editor did that automatically. Otherwise, I dunno.

You have to mod the ID card as well for it to say whay the hold amount is. But, even if it says 50 on the card, and I have mod it to hold 400, it will hold 400.
