can''t get file and a question

i can't download the freelancer unoffical patch, but the server is probably full. when i download it how will i get it to work? how do i install it?

Once you've downloaded it, it will come in the form of a program. Just double-click on the file and it does the rest. You don't even need to specify where your Freelancer game is installed.
