Help with rebalance 1.4b and flmm

I cant seem to get rebalace working. Im a total n00b when it comes to mods and this is the first one i have tried to install. i get a message saying

Error: problem activating 'rebalance1.4'
Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\PROGRAM FILES\FREELANCER MOD MANAGER\mods\rebalance1.4\modinfo.dll' to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\modinfo.dll')
--------------------

whenever i try to activate it using FLMM. Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, i sorted that problem out - i wastrying to load the mod while running freelacer - n00b - but then it said access denied. Sorted that out by making the files non-read-only, and it seemed to work. But now i load up the mod, launch the game, and nothing happens. the game plays fine, but nothing that the mod is supposed to have done has been done. no new ships. no battleships. no modded ships - well some of the info caards change but it doesnt affect the game eg sabre ow has 8/1 mounts but only six of the work- same as before. would much appreciate any help on issue.

Deactivate all mods and do "Tools\Restore Backups", and try the new beta of FLMM v1.2 in the General Editing forum, and see if that helps you at all.

You dont really need the manager for this one. All i did was unziping it to a directory and then copied the whole thing to the freelancer dir. It works perfect.

Ofcourse the bad thing is that you cant remove that easy
But since i have finished the game the orginal way why not replay it with this great mod?

Ps:I have had problem with the manager to. It never add anything to the freelance dir. Dont know why cause it seems to work for most people!
I tried the older rebalance file before rename the file to a zip file. It turned out to have a own installprg.

Tiefighter, could you try FLMM v1.2 beta (in the general editing forum) and see if mods still don't work for you? If they still don't, please e-mail me! I want FLMM to work for everyone .

FLMM v1.2 beta fixes all the access_denied problems

I restored backups, uninstalled 1.1 and installed 1.2, but on both versions i get the denied error to centurion.bmp.
I play on 3 diff servers with 3 diff mods, would be a little pain to overwrite the files every time =/ doh!

I'm having the same problem with Rebalance 1.4

I was just having fun with a previous version as well.

I'm running FLMM Beta 3, and getting the centurion error. Any ideas?

Same 'centurion' error here.

try to uncheck the READ-ONLY propertis in all files (from the Mod and the files that are going to be written)

Post Sun Jun 08, 2003 6:50 pm

agree with Alpha 1-1, could not find any files read-only tho, but check, make sure you've de-activated any conflicting mods then delete them, then before activating rebal 1.4b, in FLMM "options" uncheck "make modified files read-only when mod is activate"
worked OK for me, only problem i've found is some blank rumour windows in bars

Many thanks Alpha 1-1. Rebalance works like a charm!
