*ERROR*

Ok, I am familiar with FLMM and installing mods but every single ship mod I download this error comes up: Error: problem activating 'Slayn & Korpil B-Wing' (or whatever the mods name is) on test run
Error: Can't open file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\freelancer.ini, error = 5

This also happens with mods that increase your cruise speed. I only have a select few mods activated that work. Is there any way to fix this?

I had this problem too. I fixed it by turning off the option that make the file read only. It is in one of the drop down menu and says something like: "Make file read only (Prevents tampering)" I think that should help!

That problem will be fixed in v1.2 .

I am getting a similar problem, but the FLMM program identifies the error as coming from . . .data\equipment\market_ships.ini file .
Anyone know of a fix??
there are cool ships out there and a lot of people are having trouble.

Download the beta of FLMM v1.2 or v1.1.1 in the General Editing forum; both have fixes for this access_denied error.

Problem solved!!

I downloaded the ships package again, but this time used the OPEN option on download. FLMM 1.1 did successfully load the mod and all files in appropriate directories and the ships do show up on the planets.

IGx89 Thanks for your good work on the Mod Manager. You are doing the entire Freelancer community, which grows daily, a great service. Keep the updates coming your work is appreciated.

i have a similar problem... i use flmm 1,2 beta test 1 and im trying to activate a mod i get this msg :

Error: problem activating 'Porsche's Star Wars Ship Pack' on test run
Error: Unable to find a dest in 'C:\Program\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\data\equipment\market_ships.ini'

what am i doing wrong ??

Could you e-mail me that ini file? Zip it up and send an e-mail to [email protected] with the word "FLMM" in the subject.

im having a similar problem its saying
Error: unable to locate a section in 'C:\Freelancer\data\equipment\weapon_eqiuip.ini
gave me this problem while trying to load the nomad battleship mod, i have FLMM v2.0, wanted to see if anyone had a fix before emailing the ini, any help would be greatly appreciated
