Please help with mod installation

Can someone write or point me to a FAQ on installing mods? I would like to install the Slave 1 mod and the Babylon 5 ship pack mod. The Slave 1 Mod has no instructions and the writer of the instructions on the Babylon 5 ship Pack has unfortunately limited english. Please help a totally inexperienced modder!

If you want to use Freelancer Mod Manager, install it, run it, go to "Help\How Do I", and read Option #1. That will explain how to get mods into FLMM, so they can be easily activated/deactivated. Also, if the mod file ends in .flmod, then FLMM will automatically install it for you if you double-click on the .flmod file!

OK guys you might have done the same as me here, did you just mover the file from the zip folder & put it into the FLMM if so just double click the thing in that folder & all will be fixed. Tis small I know & I can believe I did it lol

I would like to try out the ships in the bab-pack,
put it says you need the mod itself to run...

trying the rebalancing mod 5build4 right now...
not that easy anymore... (yay!)

gonna try reynens afterwards... bab mod a distant 3.

Dante, 0r whoever else --please clarify

Move the file -- what file, the zipped file?
put in the FLMM directory -- which directory, its main folder , or the subfolder, or a subfolder with the ship name?

Thanks

PS Does this file work with single player?? If not, the readme should say so.

If the file is a FLMM mod archive (ends in .flmod), then just double-click the file and FLMM will install it for you .

Thanks for the quick reply.
I did this but it unzips the file and the window with the expanded file list just sits there (in Win XP), unrecognized by FLMM.

So, as per your advice in another post, I redownloaded the file telling it to OPEN on download. It seemed to work, everything was in correct directories, and FLMM said it loaded sucessfully, BUT when I went to activate it I got the same error message that it could not find a space in the market_ships.ini file.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
