The server is down as I'm typing this, are they doing the upgrades or has something horrible happened.

We had a visit from our friend again based on things I've gathered... I wasn't there at the time of the crash.

The server won't be restored till tomorrow morning. Sorry for the down time.

Just a note:

I am very close to going AWOL and starting a clan of my own. It will probably have 1 member, but might have two as my room-mate is rather bloodthirsty and would jump at the opportunity, even if he didn't believe in the cause lol.

The clan, if I made it, would be called [FWD, and could be interpited as 'Forward', as in lets keep this server moving forward in a fun manner, or could be interpited as 'Flamers Will DIE' as I am really wanting to shoot the next person to post a flame about ANY players on my beloved server.

This is kind of a joke. But also kind of not. :p

The original Browclops server was never based on guilds, squabbles, flame wars, territorial disputes, or any of that business. Lately some people have been a little paranoid at OWL moving in, but ironically, the Elite-style flaming and BS that everyone is scared of isn't coming from them, it's coming from the players and guilds already present.

Lately I've seen a few 'brow family unite!' style posts on various clan forums and I have to laugh at those. You know I have nothin but luv for you all, but on the Browclops I played on, that would have gotten nothing other than a few chuckles. Brow was always a little chaotic - the only place we united was at tourneys, races and other events. Let's leave the moral platforms at home, because the next one I see in-game is going to go up in flames at nomad-point. I know that many of my respected past opponents are thinking exactly the same thing too.

The only single uniting quality of the old server was [FUN and that isn't a clan name, in case anyone missed it. Flame-fests are not fun, unless it is the resultant inferno of a tizona-only duel. Declaring war on each other because we are angry at a post made, or because we want to throw our weight around is *not* fun; at least not for me. If this carries on, I will begin having fun, by doing exactly what the dueling community would have done on the old server if this stuff cropped up. And I will do it with a smile.

PS: Don't forget the tourney on Sunday 8PM EST. It's going to be [FUN!

Chuckle all you want, there's nothing wrong with chaos, chaos can be fun, part of the USB is so we can have a basic common set of rules, rule one is no noob pking without being provoked, rule two is keep it reasonable, which means no dock raping and no attacking storage characters among other things, and rule three is we stop happily pounding on each other long enough to unite and pound on any invaders. These aren't written in stone, just something we've been all agreeing to.

Meiyo you might have to turn account creation off like Elite has been doing, or turn it on only one day a week, it's something to try anyway, you may have to think of hiring (you wouldn't be paying anybody but you know what I mean) moderators with kick/ban priviliges(if that's possible)to help share the burden. Freelancer definately needs a vote kick system.

I am hesitant to respond, because I don't want to start a flame war; which is exactly what has been bothering me.

I'm trying to figure out how to put this in a pleasant way, because I don't want to be the accuser, or take cheap shots at anyone. I guess what really needs to be said here is that all these things we are worried about are not actually occuring on the server. 90% of the posts have been coming from people who barely play.

Is it just me of is Browclopsia still down? Maybe Meiyo is taking this opportunity to upgrade the system. We can always hope.

Meiyo admins the server, but he is in Chicago, the server is here in my town Calgary Alberta, so theres only so much he can do for software upgrades, and nothing he can do for hardware upgrades.

I hope the server is up again soon, I'm not gonna start over anywhere else. When Browclopsia goes down for good, Freelancer goes back in the box.

While the server is down, it does give you the opertunity to check out the mods,

TNG 1.60 was released today, love the TNG mod now, check it out, I made a char on The/Collective server ... seems lots are playing it there

This just in:
Our new friend Malys is not socially challenged after all. It seems that SHE had one Twinkie too many and that HER propaganda mission for clan DKD did not come out right on HER first post.

Current events:
Nav Boy graciously invited everybody to a tourney on Sunday despite his fear of Browclopsia becoming a cesspool of evil clans. Freakzilla had previously expressed those same fears and threatened to unleash the freak on everybody. The reasonable doctor FuglyMark acted quickly and prescribed large doses of sedatives to both Nav and Freak while defending the virtues of natural selection. Nav Boy, then annoyed by a flaming rash, pointed out what Caesar realized; Not everything printed, posted or reported correspond to reality.

In other news:
-The infamous pirate Punisher true to his reputation of sh*t disturber was spotted on the NEO forum inviting the unmovable Elite clan to visit Browclopsia.
-Rasta man Blitzraven smoked rag weed by mistake and decided to join a clan.
-Our revered Browclops switched fetishes from monkey girls to licking pilots, yuck.
-Untainted Emperor Justinian is now shopping for a decent modded server. Could this mark the decline of the Holy Roman Empire? I doubt it very much.
-Clopsian savior Meiyo Chie was last seen attempting to fix a fan strap on the server with very very long pliers.
-The server is still down and our resident physician FuglyMark is giving us a grim prognosis.
