Slight problem I have on Elite

Now I just formatted tonight. Went to play FL after installing it, tried to enter the Elite server, and after a prolonged wait, it told me my account and password were 'incorrect'. Now it didn't take me long to figure out that this was because i hadn't backed up my old stuff. I think if anyone could delete my old account (pretty please), with this character name, I could probably play again, which is what really matters to me, as its a good server

You need to install DX9.

I just uninstalled and then reinstalled Freelancer to resolve a few issues I was having and now it tells me that my account and login are incorrect, as per trenthowell's msg. I have DirectX9 installed and have an otherwise functional install. Any ideas?

This is the message you get when the server turns off new account creation, and it seems that you have done a complete reinstall wiping out your old account details on your pc, hence the servers reads you as a new player, and as it has had new player accounts turned off recently, produces the message your getting, until new account creation is back on or you find and install your old account number, your screwed.

Thanx for the info. Guess it was just one of those times when your screwed if you do, and screwed if you don't.
