Whats going on with the Elite server?

All the ships move super fast, much faster then single player, turning and dodging like crazy. And it may just be me but the weapons also seem super fast. Is this a server setting or is something wrong? I don't much like this setting, so is there a server that is admined, and will not go down, that does not have this setting?
