Hit enter to type a message and then use the up/down cursor keys to scroll through the list of users. Console will be listed as one of the users to send a message to.

And I might interject something here. If the server admin does take the time to chime in, please please please, do not blow them off intentionally. Most good server admins will even tell people how to chat with them (see instructions in post above). Blowing them off indicates to many either you're in a dogfight that is taking a lot of time (and most admins should understand that!) .. or you have something to hide. The latter is not good.

It should be noted that you can't send a message to the console unless the admin has initiated contact with the player by selecting "Chat with Player" and has a chat window open.

It may look as if the message has been sent, but nothing appears on the server machine. Probably a good thing, too... I'd imagine some moron would try to spam the server until it locks up.

hmm didnt know you couldnt send to the admin unless he starts, good to know. Most of the time I see the admin chimming is "Gotta Reboot, go get a coffee"
