Microsoft Support sucks

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Microsoft Support sucks

Millions of people around the world have no choice but to buy questionable microsoft products and they have the nerve to charge for technical support for a FFFFreelancing computer game. By the way this is NOTHING at all against Digital Anvil who did a great job but why team up with MS???

With that out of the way I'll get to my problem, my PC is as follows:
Gigabyte GA-8IE M/B, P4 1.8, 256 ram, FM801 sound card, HIS GForce4 440SE 64meg (NEW)

I used to have an older Cardex GForce2 32meg card running the Nvidia 41.09 drivers and had no problems running freelancer at all. But following the change to the new HIS card mentioned above I seem to have the Dimond Viper 550 problem ...... pretty blue triangles and corrupted graphics. Apparently the solution is to download the latest drivers and hey-presto. The thing is I'm already using the latest drivers. Anyone have any ideas???

Are you using the reference drivers (meaning the ones from nVidia - not the ones from the company that produces your new card)? Even if you are, try reinstalling them.

And just commenting on the Microsoft statement, Microsoft is the publisher and apparently helped DA when they were in some financial trouble, which I don't see as a bad thing. Tech support fees do suck, but hopefully most of the issues will get resolved in short order.

It says fee may be required for E-mail support, is that true?

ummm- all tech support is free for Frelancer- as long as you call during normal business hours- I've spent six hours on the phone with them trying to fix my problems- and the same guy helps everytime- he even calls every afternoon to see if I fixed it.
