Lag every couple of minutes

Hi there,
when playing on MP for a while, lets say about 60-90 Minutes, the game starts to get real laggy, everything is stuttering including sound, docking procedures, menus - after about 30-90 seconds everything is back to normal and 4 minutes later it happens again - this is unplayable !! Does anyone have a solution for this cause I don't.

Thanks in advance.

i seem to get the exact same problem ... lag's to almost 1 frame per 2 seconds.. usually during combat.. but not always.. it's not related to how many objects are on screen tho .. cuz sometimes i'm in combat with dozens of ships and it's fine..

.. swapping to windows and back in seems to resolve it for a few minutes.. .. but it comes back ..

anyone seen this?

i'm running a Prophet 3D 32 meg card.. i get a strange 'possibly incorrect video driver' error when loading the game.. but it runs fine aside from this.. reglardless i'm gonna uninstall/reinstall GLSetup tonite and hopefully it will resolve the problem

*crosses fingers*

I'm not alone with this alright, I got that strange message telling me my driver wasn't just right too - but there is no other so what am I to do. Another strange thing was that I can only play up to a 1280x960 resolution but my friend with a older graphics board can play 1600xwhatever !! Why !?! *forcryingoutloud*

Thanks for any help.

If your using some kind of beta Nvidia driver, remove it and install the WHQL drivers from their site. The beta drivers have been causing problems and porhibiting certain resolutions from being used.

Also make sure your card ISN'T being oc'ed

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tan Hauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

Hey there,

thanks for the hint, I got the driver, installed it and after 2 hours fl is still running flawlessly. I still can't use a higher resolution, though, but that isn't that important.

Thanks !

i installed GLsetup wich still detects my hercules prophet card as an nvidia card .. and i STILL get the wierd warning message... but the problem seems gone.. UNLESS i exit the game and restart it.. then it comes back.. but as long as i play right out of a fresh boot it seems to be ok .. .wierd but good enuf for me ... after all once i load FL i tend not to unload it for several hours
