yes, another problem w/ conneting to master server

Hello all, and let me first describe my rig before my problem
AMD Duron 1.3 on a Abit KG7-RAID Motherboard

512 MB DDR 2100
Gforce 2 pro 32mb card
SBlive! 5.1 Plat.
2 WD 40gig ata-100 on seperate Ide channels
and a Linksys lne-100tx (ver 5) nic
lite-on 40x12x48 burner
all running Win 2k sp3 (w/ dx9)
ok my problem, and I am tearing my hair out on this. Every time I try to connect to Mplayer internet, I get to the screen w/ the "connecting master servers" dialog. Then the program quits responding. Mouse dosn't move, nothing... I have to end task to exit the game.

I see other problems in the fourm that may be the same problem also. Now I am running behind a linksys 4 port router, yes I have opened up the ports 4200-4400 udp to my internal lan. The problem still exists. I have even DMZ'd my machine out in front of the router... to no avail. I have only had 1 other problem w/ a game that does this, and it is Mech 4: Mercs (another microsoft game, that connects the same way).

I need help, I have tried everything on the fourms (except for reinstalling DX9, because the first time that I tried connecting i was using DX 8.X, and you cannot UNINSTALL, to reinstall, and if you know, NEVER reinstall anything over itself). If we can solve the problem, I will be one happy camper

For client side, you dont need to forward any ports or put your pc on the DMZ. It's more than likely your DX9. Try installing the DX9 from the game CD. No one can give you a definate answer though of what may be wrong, just things that others have done and seemed to work.
