Hi

Glad you worked out your problems.

First, can't compare XP to ME or 98SE, a diffrent ball game IMO.

As for why it sttuters in XP and not in older OS, there could be meny reasons

1) A driver issue. (i would look into the 4in1 VIA drivers, i hear there is a new one out)
2) XP uses alot of services. Most of them are totally useless to the average user. It has taken me a lot of time and research to reduce the number of services running on my home and work machines, and i have a feeling there are still more i could probably remove (i didn't touch anything releated to internet conectivity). Maybe a process running in the background is eating away CPU cycles?

IMO? it's most likely a driver issue, specially with the Creative cards, alot of people found out that OLDER drivers worked better, reduced static & noise and removed crashes.

As long as your happy, thats what counts!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tan Hauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.
