CAN''T CONNECT TO GLOBAL SERVER!

I don't know why it's not working! We use a shared internet connection with no firewall. When the Multiplayer screen comes up it says "connecting to global server", but it stays like that for five minutes until it freezes and i have to manually restart the computer! How do I fix this?!? Also, I have DirectX 9.

I have the same problem, minus the freezing. It just sits there saying "Connecting to global server..". I have a router, but it shouldn't be a problem since it's all configured correctly and i've never had any trouble. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm using a router too... STUPID VERIZON DSL! I'm so sad now...

Check out this article:

Maybe that'll help you work around it? Good luck.

I'm on cable that runs through a router.. I have absolutely no problems connecting.

I would tend to think its a problem with the load on the Global Server as it seems to be a time related thing. During the day "when i want to play most" is when I seem to have problems connecting to it. Just get the "Connecting to Global Server...."

Setup
-------
OS: XP Pro (SP1) (DX9)
MB:MSI KT4V
CPU: XP-2100+
RAM: 1GB PC2700
VID: Geforce 4 Ti4400 128MB
-------
Using most recent drivers and updated bios...

I can't connect either.. If it's the server itself, is there an official news post about it??
