JumpGate crashes

Jumping with some jumpgates causes a complete restart on this machine. On every other pc I have, there is no problem at all when jumping. I'd like to play this game on those pc's but they don't have MP access so I have to use this one.
I've updated everything to the latest drivers.

P4 2.66 Ghz
512 DDR
120 Gb ATA 133
GeForce 4 Ti4200 AGP 8x (Detonator 41.09)
On board sucksound
WinXP Home

Motherboard and everything is SiS and I know that ain't no good.
Currently crashes the most in Rheinland space, and thats where I am now (arg).
Anyone has a solution?

-Yes, this is a legal version-

Have you tried turning down or off some of the sound acceleration or DirectSound? It's worked for others, and if you're using onboard sound maybe that's part of the problem.

Only noticed this once when I went through a jump hole from Sigma-13 to Sigma-19, complete restart the minute I came out.

No, DirectSound wasn't the problem...

Read something about AGP speed possibly being an issue? Not sure where the setting is, but try setting your AGP card to run at 2x or 4x? (Yeah, I know it sucks, but it might be worth a shot).

I have the same problem. Will try to turn off 3D sound when I get home, but I was also adviced to install a secondary cooling device on my G4 Ti4200 card. The card feels very overheated after one of those reboots (Which I, atleast, get on almost ALL jumpgates, but fortunately, not jump holes)
Opening up the sidepanel to cool down the card with a normal fan didn't do much good
