This is a known problem with ATI Radeon Cards. See the supplied README file or:

Open Display Properties -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot

Take the Hardware Acceleration slider down one notch and click OK.

I have this problem.. and I have a Radeon 9700pro card.
Are there any known fixes/patches for this bug?

I havn't tried doing what hurg said to do yet, but i did lower my screen resolution to 800x600 and it works much better. If you have any other problems with your 9700 pro card let me know. I have been working with it for a month now trying to get the damn thing working correctly. ATI has always been a little buggy, but if it is tweaked it can work very well.

I just don't want to lower my hardware accel... I paid good money for that card and I don't want any slow down because of it.

What a sack of sh*t

This is a known issue with Windows and Radeon/ATI drivers when rendering rich text. ATI is addressing the issue in a driver update but no ETA has been advertised.

Sorry to tell ya'll that,

I just noticed, i changed my colors to 1024 x 768x16 from 1024x768x32 not to a resolution of 800x600. sorry. And it does work much better and still looks great
