Multiplayer Account

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Multiplayer Account

When I try to join a multiplayer game, it says that my account name and password are not valid for the server (and this is for unlocked servers too). I don't remember ever even entering in an account name or password. It just asked me if my account key thingie was right once and I said yes and it never said anything about it again.

I can't find where to fix this, does anyone know what this is?

Thanks.

Now is this retail or warez version?

It shouldn't matter.. i had so much probs with my server that i tried the "warez" .exe too. got into other servers with it.. but mine was still crashing at jumpgates (after long playtime and a server down (when the playing started to get fun)).. i can't arse myself to restart in the silly spacefloater once more on a new server.. and i only wanna play with my mate anyway (since i can't arse myself to restart)

hmm just realised that the freelancer "code" is made at first startup.. so what exe used might have nothing to do with it.. well i post it anyway

there's no reason to kill yourself.. as long as you can make others suffer

The big string of digits it displayed was the account number, so you have one. You can check out your AccountID with the "Examine My Account ID" item in the Freelancer menu (off your Windows start menu).

A failure to connect to a server will result in the invalid account name/password response. Despite what it says, this means you couldn't connect to the server for some reason.

You need to have a proper Dx9 installation in order to connect to a server; Dx8 won't work.
