FL running with just 400Mhz!!!
Don't tell me that this is not a miracle!
For a long time I've been realizing that my system (CPU with 400 Mhz and Riva TNT1) would never be able to start FL at all. They wrote that you would need at least 600 Mhz to play it and about 1Ghz to enjoy it.
So I began to install the demo just to see what would happen. I was disappointed when a window opened and told me that my hardware was by far too weak to run the game. But I was able to install the game, anyway. And I also could start it. That was not a real miracle, yet.
But guess what happened after I clicked the "New Game"-Button? - Indeed, I found myself inside a camera flying smoothly (!) around the Freeport7-Station situated before a beautiful background with a glowing sun. An impressive explosion followed. After that I walked around on Manhatten were I could talk to characters perfectly animated.
After flying through space for some minutes without any technical problems I opened the Options-Menu and set the details to "Maximum" as well as the resolution! Can you imagine what happened? - I still could play the game with an excellent performance and absolutely beautiful graphics.
Later I saw the game on a quite powerful system and realized that some effects had a much better quality because the Riva TNT is pretty dated and doesn't support all features. But the entire picture didn't show many differences.
Now it's your turn: How is it possible to play FL with an absolutely dated system that doesn't even fulfill the requirements with maximum quality and enjoyable performance???
