ATTN: nVidia video card owners

Download the new Detonator 43.00 drivers. I have a GF4 Ti 4400, and they markedly increased the image quality (especially the background space stuff). It's not just me, though; I know of at least 3 other people that have noticed a similar improvement.
Also, enable Digital Vibrance (move from "off" to "low". That makes everything, both the 2D desktop and 3D games, look a lot more colorful. To find that option, do the following:
-right-click on desktop, and click properties
-click the settings tab, and click the advanced button
-click the GeForce tab, and click the nView list item on the left
-click the "Device Settings" drop-down button, and click "Color Correction"
-Drag the Digital Vibrance slider from "off" to "low" or "medium", and watch your desktop background instantly and noticeably look better

Have fun

I also found out that they aren't beta; they're actually official drivers from the PNY site, that aren't on the nVidia site for some reason

I personally do not recommend using a beta video driver. Do so at your own risk!

I'm liking the 40.72 WHQL Certified drivers myself.

Where can I download the beta 43 drivers? And doesn't the 41.09 driver also support the digital vibrance? I don't know I'm not at home right now so I can't check.

Yes, Digital Vibrance is in all 4x.xx drivers, and works with the GF2 MX 400, and GF3/4/FX cards.

FWIW, I had the 43.00s installed when I first installed Freelancer. I couldnt get 1280x960 as a res option in game with these drivers. I switched back to 41.09s and that option came back.
