Resolution options?

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Resolution options?

Am I missing something here? The only options I have for resolution are 800x600 (ugh), 1024x768, or 1152x864. Where's the higher resolutions? Also, when I try to change to 1152x864, everything becomes huge on the screen and extends off my visible monitor space. Really odd. So, I keep it on 1024x768 -- which doesn't look bad at all, btw.

I have two more higher resoultions after the ones you listed on mine and they both work fine.

Hmmm. Now why the hell would I be missing those? Anyone have any ideas?

Not a clue I as well have two more than that...1280X960 and 1600X1200..

Yah, this is really wierd. I mean, I am playing SOFII and Morrowind on both 1280x960 and 1600x1200 respectively.

Was the demo limited to a certain resolution? I had that installed (uninstalled it prior to the retail version).

And you had more in the Demo??

Or the same ones you do now?

Same ones I do now.

Quite strange.. Goto My Documents>>My Games>>Freelancer>> Open up the Prefoptions.ini and at the bottom the resolution is down there. Try to manually change it.

Good suggestion -- I didn't even know that folder was there. There is another .ini file in the actual Freelancer folder (in Program Files). That also has a resolution adjustment in it. Tried that also, no luck. No luck either way.

This is driving me nuts. I honestly cannot think of a reason why it is doing this. Maybe I should just uninstall and reinstall again.

The reinstall didn't work either, btw. Time to call Microsoft...ouch.

Hehe they are probably already on your computer saying 'hey this guy has some nice porn' LOL j/k But yea give them a call and see what they say about it.

LOL -- they actually were no help. Big suprise. But very nice tho!! OH well, 1024x768 will have to suffice.

I had this problem too, specifically I was missing 1280x960. I fixed it by reinstalling my Detonator Drivers. I was using 43.00s, switched to 41.09s and voila!, 1280x960 is an option again. Really strange.

...now only if the Detonators would work on my Radeon...

olaf -- you are the man. I hate it when the solution is as simple as reinstalling drivers. Actually, I didn't just reinstall the drivers. I got the latest build of ATI's Catalyst 3.1 drivers. It worked. Hooah!!
