Bad shading problem

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Bad shading problem

For some reason, instead of the bright, crisp images I was getting, now everything has really high-contrast shading. Instead of just one side being darker than the other, one side is now black whle the other is in normal light (but still a bit too dark, and the sheen shader doesn't seem to work as well now). Any help would be great.

Possibly an option for your video card. Right click your desktop>>Properties>>Advanced>> whatever you do for your vid card. And then maybe theres an option in there you need to change....Please enlighten me with what video card you have. Thanks

Oh, right, I have a GF4 Ti 4200. The problem started after I disabled "Texture Sharpening" because I was told it would actually improve texture quality. However, when I put it back, the problem persisted.

That's strange. Texture sharpening has only decreased visual quality in games for me and it's usually something I leave off entirely. Try adjusting the gamma settings in the options?

Have you by any chance installed the latest hack for the demo? The one that reveals hidden ships on most planetes/stations? Cause i have the exact same problem and it only appeared right after i over wrote the files. I have a Radeon9700pro BTW

I do indeed have that hack, but the problem wasn't apparent immediately, musta been after I bought those uber-guns
