Install Problems

After downloading the demo and trying to install it, I've encountered a problem:

It extracts everything just fine, but when the setup tries to start it gives me an error that says "Setup was unable to find (or could not read) the language specific setup resource dll, unable to continue. Please reboot and try again."

And rebooting does not help

I have Win2k, DX9, latest detonators, etc.

I would list my hardware specs but this doesn't sound like a hardware issue. I'm not running any obscure or obsolete hardware.

Please help...It took a while to download this on 56k.

did you download the GameSpy version or the official one from Microsoft... I heard of some problem because GameSpy wrapped the demo with an extra layer of spy-ware. Lancer's Reactor has a link to the clean version in the top right corner.

I seem to have the exact same problem. does anyone have have any ideas

@jaguar would you post the spec of you computer, i think it would be intersting to see if we have similar machines. i have posted my spec on a newer thread.

hi there m8

solved the prob. went to MS knowledge base and they say it is a disk space issue, so i followed instructions and deleted all the crap in my TEMP folder (i cant see why as i have 2x80 gig hard drives). anyway i try again and still no luck, so i go to the temp folder where the install program has unzipped all the files. so i decide to install from a different location, so i fire up nero burning rom and burn all the install files to a cd (about 170 meg in all). i then reboot my machine just to make sure and reinsert the freshly burned cd into my dvd rom drive and hey preso the game installer pops up automatically. try this and see if it works for you.
