The text is messed up

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

The text is messed up

The text is messed up, it is either abnormally large or tiny. It seems to be a overlap of the text and graphics. I dont want to buy the full version of the game if I cant see how many credits I have.

The Text on one line will be tiny and a few lines below huge then maybe the next line is unreadable. - I can run at either resolution with the same results - the TEXT is UNSTABLE. This happens on all pages through-out the program.

I never see any flickering, the graphics (except the Text) are perfectly stable and supurb.

What are your systems specs?, especially your video card? Perhaps its another Radeon glitch. Have you tried all the standard procedures, newest drivers, etc, etc?

anti-aliasing is also known to cause issues. disable any aa you might have going?

Post Sun Mar 02, 2003 1:53 pm

Anti aliasing has only caused strange lines through text for me, never anything like what he's describing. Sounds like another problem to me, change your drivers and see what happens.

Iam running a flat panel digital display and have found no references to anti alias activation or deactivation, and I have the most recent driver for my video card.

I also have his problem. Everything is fine except for the text. I think the text is either too small or just plain screwed up. Anyone else have this going on?

If you are using ATI radeon cards, try enabling the "Alternative Pixel Center"
from video cards settings. Worked with EVE..

I'm using an Intel 82815, which isn't listed as one of the problem cards. I also have the latest drivers.

Still having problems with text varing in size, form small to large on same page. No Anti Aliasing to adjust. I am running a Gateway Flat panel LCD with a Intel 82810E graphics contoler and 2254 bios. The display works at either 800x600 or 1024x768 which I prefer. My drivers I have updated to the latest availble 4.13.01.3196 and a Gama factor of 2.2.

What's next?

Post Sun Mar 02, 2003 8:57 pm

Try reinstalling the game, maybe the font that it installs isn't there?

Post Mon Mar 03, 2003 12:17 am

I already have reinstalled it... nothing... Thank you for all suggestions so far.

Appears to me there is a problem with the integrated Intel graphics drivers. I would be on the lookout for a patch or drivers soon.

Post Mon Mar 03, 2003 1:32 am

I think it is the Intel card that is causing the problems.

Post Mon Mar 03, 2003 6:19 pm

I have this same problem at work. With both the Demo and the Full, Plays fine at home. Same problems, Text is Small then large, then split in half and rolled, flipped sideways. You name it I've seen it. At work I just play to blow stuff up so it doesn't matter much. I know this doesn't help you, but at least now its not just your problem.

Work Comp Spec.
Compaq Deskpro EN
Pentium 3 866
256MB Ram
OnBoard Intel 82815 Graphics Card.

I'm positive the problem is with the onboard Intel card, since that is what we all have.
