demo mouse lag

Hi,

It seems that people are mentioning 'mouse lag' in the demo. I seem to be suffering from it, and would dearly love to be freed from it. What can I do?

Thanks in advance,

You most likely have a Radeon Card, the current drivers from ATI have menu problems with freelancer, that will be fixed in the next release from ATI, until then you can't do anything... other then by buying a new vid card =p

I thought they could turn down their hardware accelleration to solve such issues... dunno.

You can do something

go into display properties-advanced-troubleshotting and turn hardware accelration down 1 notch. Problem solved.

And for god sake's read the FAQ befor your giving such "qualified" answers.
And read the FAQ befor posting problems, most likely someone else has allready commented on it.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tan Hauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

Are you running Windows XP? Its prolly that mouse lag problem ppl get.

My friend is experiencing it too and he has a Geforce Ti4200.

I fixed it on my computer by simply uninstalling any keyboard and mouse driver installed EXCEPT for the bare basic needed drivers installed automatically. After that, the problem went away.

But that didnt seem to be the case with my friend because he didnt have any mouse/keyboard drivers installed anyways. Hmm....

I'm having this trouble too, but it started after I had edited an ini file(market_ships.ini)

Yeah, I have a GF4 ti4200, athlonXP 1800, 512MB ram running winXP. I've got the 41.09 nVidia drivers. I have a MS intellimouse explorer and MS internet keyboard. I guess I could try uninstalling the drivers for them... but that really shouldn't be necessary. I really hope that this issue is resolved in the full version.

I dont think its their fault. It's Microsoft's fault. This is a common problem in other games.

go to mouse options and speed up your mouse, it worked great for me.

Tere is a bit of lag in the starting menus that doesn't appear to affect the ship control. If anything, I'd say the ship control is too sensitive even with the mouse sensitivity turned right down.

And for all the joystick jockeys, I've solved the joystick problem so you can use one in the game. Use a trackball mouse with a stick glued to the ball.

My idea of an OS is one that operates the system, not a self contained package of every piece of software ever invented.

I've got the full version now and it too suffers from weird ****iness. However, when I got rid of everything from the task bar, it went away. Strange, I don't have to do that for other stuff, but it works and it's easier than uninstalling mouse and keyboard drivers.

Maybe seti has something to do with it...
