dx 9 neded?

Hi,

does the Freelancer game really need dx9? The demo works fine without it.

The game engine itself requires dx8.1 but multiplaying requires dx9.
So if you want to get online blasting your friends to pieces with the full game, you need dx9.

Huh? with me it wouldn't install without directx 9
