demo crashing problem

I'm having a problem with the demo that I haven't seen mentioned here.

Right after the "Microsoft Games" intro anim, I get the standard Windows XP crash window saying, "freelancer.exe has encountered aproblem and will now close." Under details, it says appname: freelancer.exe modname: ntdll.dll

I'm pretty competent in these matters generally, have WinXP SP1, latest drivers, DX9, a GeForce3, SB Audigy, intel 845, nothing out of the ordinary. Any ideas?

well, in case anybody does have this problem, it appears to have to do with various codecs, most likely ones in certain nimo divx distributions. The following commands worked for me

regsvr32.exe /s /u TfMAudio.ax
regsvr32.exe /s /u Mlcom.ax
regsvr32.exe /s /u DivXG400.ax
regsvr32.exe /s /u MMSwitch.ax
regsvr32.exe /s /u bicubic_resizer.ax

nimo tends to seriously screw ones system... i once installed it, and wasn't able to listen to mp3's anymore...
