I get the same error.

The procedure entry point ?getch@QSocketDevice@@UAEHXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library qt-mt304.dll.

Followed by:
PAD setup error: cannot load the IPC library specified in registry.

I downloaded the demo from AusGamers if that helps.

Theese all have to do with that ****e of a security software they slapped onto the demo. Why on earth do they need that? who knows

We 3 need to figure it out for ourselfs...i doubt anyone will help us offically since it's such small scale problem. My guess it has to be with some software we all have or a driver we all share?

notice the error right at the end? ive even gone to the ezpad page and tried to download thier program from them. but reguardless of having it.. the demo installs its own version putting 2 versions on your system. :\

Did you install the demo to a diffrent drive/directory?

Another thing i noticed.

My error began after the ez software installed and configured itself...perhaps it's something to do with my Firewall (Kerio). Allthough i did try installing and running with the firewall shut down.

Well it's not the Firewall, uninstalled it, booted, reinstalled FL, same errors.

nope custom built here.

Custom as well

See my post in my thread.

Basiclly i think i might have disabled a service that this software needs, either that or it's a hardware thing.

Hmmm...I seem to be having a different problem. I don't get any error messages, but the game just fails to launch. Click icon, get an hourglass for a second, and nothing.

I've got my key, but it never asked me to enter it anywhere. Does it ask before, during, or after the install?

Post Sat Feb 22, 2003 5:25 pm

I'm having the same problem except with a different DLL, stlport_vc645.dll . Installing ez pad from their website did nothing. . .

Except the install seemed to fail. . .

Has any of you experianced an error while installing the ez-pad software, prior to the installation of FL?

Thats the case with my problem, i got an error beep and the message:

The instruction at "0x771c741a" referenced memory at "0x00163b90". The memory could not be "read".

And then another window pops up to tell me that a c++ runtime error has occured. That done FL's installation continues (the actual demo), after it's done, i can't run the demo. All i get is an error beep and the runtime error message.

I've done a physical memory check and the memory is fine.
Dunno what to try next

Is there ANY chance of getting a patch to remove the copy protaction software?

Mod's if you will?

Thunderchild, I had that error initially. I unintalled EZ-pad and it reinstalled correctly with no errors.

But now I'm wondering if its still the reason the demo won't launch for me.
