Random Crashes/Trade Lanes

The game crashes and my PC reboots every time I go to my equipment screen or enter a trade lane.

I tried disabling 3d sound, updating video drivers.

I have:

ASUS V8 Deluxe Motherboard
Realtek Sound Card
ATI Radeon 9600XT
WInXP

I'm having these problems since I bought the game.
Help appreciated.

Delete your Freelancer folder located at
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer
Do not just uninstall Freelancer - delete the Freelancer folder. Don't worry this will not cause any problems, just delete it.

Delete the saved game files from your Singleplayer and Multiplayer saved game folders located at
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts
both Singleplayer and Multiplayer
or just delete the Freelancer folder.
The saved game files can cause problems.

Insert your Freelancer CD and then install Freelancer.

Download and install the Freelancer Quickfix
Freelancer QuickFix-v1.0c
The Quickfix will install into your Freelancer folder by default.

You should be good to go now.
