Gamma Correction question

While the slider bar under the "option" menu works fairly well, I find that the game is still way too DARK. I have the slider bar maxed out and my monitor is already maxed out in brightnes and contrast as well. My video card, however (Old Geforce 2) is more than capable of "shedding some light" on things. My question: how can I get the games rather limited gamma to increase....my video card can produce MUCH more light than the slider bar in the game is giving me. Can anyone help me out on this to correct the situation???

Right click on the Desktop/Proprierties/Tab Settings/Advanced/Tab GeForce2/ Color Correction.
Move the slide bar of the Gamma to the right.
On that window it is an option wich is looking like this "Apply color changes to:".
Change from Desktop to -> All.
Then Apply/OK and there you go...

For those that might be experiencing problems with the gamma correction on there machine (gamma slider bar in menu is NOT enough), I have stumbled upon a embarrasingly simple solution. Simply go under your Mydocuments/mygames/Freelancer folder and you will see a file called PerfOptions.ini. If you open this up and scroll down you should see something called "gamma_ramp =" . Simply change the number after it up or down and you should achieve the desired result. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to determine where the exact programming is "in game" (the gamma slider still only goes between -1 and 1) so you should leave the in game slider bar alone after making any manual corrections to this file.
