A little more info on this is needed.....
You can't read at all or the text in the game is gone?
What is your computer specs?
What's your OP, Windows 64-bit, XP, 2000?
Becuase many things can cause a problem in the game.

well i can read some of the text but most of the names and places in the game are waky. my op is windows xp
i installed the XTS them to see if that would do anything but it did not

my brother says it are graphics card.

What is your graphics card?

Are you or have you used any mods?
You may have an edited resource.dll file that could be causing the problem.
If this problem is not appearing in any other game or program that you use that's probably your problem.

How do I fix this?
I suggest you delete your freelancer folder... not uninstall and reinstall but just delete the folder...
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer
then install Freelancer
That will give you a clean set of files to start with, now you can do what you were doing before the problem showed up...

i really do not know what graphic card i have but it came built in. how do you check what graphic card you have

i am using the XTS theam. i had the problem when got the game

If you don't want to open the computers case and look inside to see what video card you have...
You should be able to;
click on - start - click on Control Panel - double click on System in the Control Panel, the System Properties screen should pop up - click the Hardware tab - click on Divice Manager - click on the + next to Display adaptors, that will open it up and your video card should be listed there.

That isn't a graphics card. That is an onboard video chipset that is barely supported by Freelancer. Making sure you have the newest drivers for it would probably help. You should also check out Dragons Tech Center's post in this thread.

pc specs
windows xp,
intel graphics controller. 82810(E) the fonts were ok before. i no the G.card might be problem but i just need to have a 2nd advice,.

System ram: 400mb
Hard drive 13gb with 6gb free space.
cpu and speed: intel pentium 4 900mhz
theres no problem with sound
any suggestions would be greatful.
i will continue to look though the rest of the tech forum and see what esle i can found....

i've also got dirextc 9c installed

I would see about upgrading ram, no matter what. It can only help. Your vid ram is shared ram, which very much limits the amout available.

i play on my pc at home aswell and the pc is faster a and it has 100mb system ram less. mine has 300mb and the font is ok this pc i am on now which is 400mb system ram, ok its bound to run faster on a faster pc and better i no what ya saying. basicly i need to update the whole pc itself, but i am just asking for advice without doing that
but i am greatful for advice
also i looked at another topic after i made my first post in here. and it said that i need to install the fonts from the game disc to my windows fonts folder.which i did.
any other advice???

I don't suspect a problem with hardware here. I have friends wich have Freelancer instaled on computers much slowiest than this one (P2 450Mhz, 96Mb Ram, HDD 20Gb, Video Ati rage 8Mb) and the game run very good with Mods instaled!
I think it's from the instalation of the Mod.
Try reinstal the game, is the best option.
And get a regcleaner to clean your PC !!!
